Portrait Monster Composition

Conclusion Questions
1. Copy and paste the links to any youtube tutorials or articles you used to help you create your project
- The YouTube tutorial that supported me through my monster composite was: Creating a Medusa Portrait in Photoshop.
2. What are some of the different compositing techniques you used (ex: Clipping masks, adjustment layers, etc.) and where did you use them?
- Different compositing techniques I used included, clipping masks when wanting to select certain areas of an image to adjust such as when removing the background of myself, of the snakes. I used the adjustment layers of Hue/Saturation to colorize and edit the colors of the background, snakes and skin tone. Another main adjustment layer I used was Exposure which I used to create highlights. The inverted curves adjustment also helped with creating shadows. With the use of color fill I was able to change the color of my eyes.
3. What was the most challenging part of this project? What did you do to overcome this challenge?
- The most challenging part of this project would have to be the formatting of the snakes. Finding a photo that would work best and making sure there are no gaps yet full. It was a tedious process but using the brush tool it was made easier to blend in the different parts. Spending extra time on this section allowed me to include little details, including shading.
4. Based on the learning target, what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding).
- I think my project demonstrates an exceeding mastery level because I included several layers each one having adjustment layers connected. I also made sure that everything blended well together making it one cohesive portrait composite. The highlights and color theme prove this further.
