Conclusion Questions

1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create your Silent Film in Adobe Premiere Rush. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools and processes as possible.

- To begin creating this project we had to make a plan. Me and my group came together and were able to pitch our idea to the rest of the class. We created a storyboard that guided us through the filming process and prepared us for what to expect when creating the other parts of this project. The next big piece that we did was film! After finding a location at a small bakery/cafe we moved through the storyboard ideas. Using props such as coffee cups and seating we filmed in a day's time. All three of us were in the film as well as another person. After we got all of our clips together we compiled them, all the raw footage, into one video, in the adobe premiere pro software. Each person in the group had a designated piece of the project, with the exception of helping others in order to finish the project entirely. I was in charge of the motion graphic that is shown at the start of the silent film. Jazmin was in charge of creating the movie poster. Sebastian was in charge of editing the film. So for my part of the project, I created the motion graphic with the use of Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator. I knew we wanted to do something with flowers so I looked up a YouTube video on how to do that. I started in adobe illustrator and made each part of the flower its own layer. Once i had that as well as the text laid out, I saved it and uploaded it into after effects. In after effects at first it was a little blurry but I added a null object layer and resized the entirety of the project to be scaled up. After that I used a combination of key frames to make simple animations to the flower and used the pre-compose feature to isolate the head of the flower, so I was able to work on that and then also when having to zoom into the whole project and make it fade into black. I was able to add keyframes onto the pre-compose layers to move everything as a whole. I also used the Bend It effect quite a lot so that the flower had motion and was more life-like. I added the animation to the render queue and was able to export it. For the movie poster we used adobe Photoshop. There we were able to upload the pictures that we took and use mask layers to remove the background of those pictures. We found a unique font and used the theme of brown and coffee to bring the poster together. We exported this and sent it out to the rest of the team members. The most time consuming part of the project was editing the film. We cut clips to make them the adequate length that cut off any unnecessary footage. We used several different sound effects and music that we found free online, mainly on "Pixabay". Using sound transitions we were able to create a video that had no sudden changes. To upload we Exported it and uploaded it onto youtube as "unlisted". Everting was then posted on wix in a thought out manner.

2. What was the easiest part of the process of making a silent film? What was the most difficult part? How did you overcome it?

- The easiest part of the process of making a silent film would have to be taking pictures for and making the film poster. I say this because. The most difficult part was finding audio to go along with our film. Since it is a silent film we are having to find music and sound effects that go best with the message we are trying to display.

3. What was the experience of working with a group like? Did everyone carry their own weight and contribute equally to the production process? Why or why not?

- The experience of working with a group was nice. We were able to work well together and work on different parts of the project at the same time in order to make use of our time. I think that being a part of a group helped me to keep up the working process.

4. Based on the learning target, "Understand the component steps and skills required to design, edit, and produce a Silent Film by producing a storyboard, script, audio and video clips that use characterization, style, and related elements for specific aesthetic purposes ". What level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding) Why do you think so? Make sure to provide specific evidence.

- Based on the learning target I would say that our project presents an exceeding level of  mastery. I say this because we took our time on every part of our project and were able to use our time wisely. Since the start we stayed on top of deadlines. The quality of our film is nice and the audio was meticulously picked out in order to fit the overall theme.
