Vector Landscape

Conclusion Questions
1. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create this project in Adobe illustrator. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools, processes and keyboard commands as possible.
- The first thing I did was look for a reference photo online. I knew I wanted to do a waterfall/water landscape so I looked for one similar to take inspiration from. The first thing I did when setting up my final project was inserting a square with the shape tool and fitting it to the background, I was able to add a linear gradient onto this background and change the angle to 90 degrees, filing it with orange and yellow as my sunset by clicking on Fill. Using the curvature pen tool I created the foundation of my landscapes layers the sky being the background, the mountains being the middle ground, and the bushes and trees being the foreground in my project. Other parts of my project that I used a gradient are my sun and my water. I wanted to add some color variation in the water so to do that I used tools such as the warp tool to add dimension to my water fall. Then on the actual lake I used the same tool to add a sort of reflection onto the water using the same warm colors as the sun. When I was adding in my sun I made sure to change the gradient to a radial gradient so that the color would show from the inside out and also added on an outer glow by clicking on Fx>Stylize>Outer Glow. When creating my clouds I also used effects on them as well but I started out with adding a bunch of circles until I got my desired look of my cloud, then with the shape builder tool I dragged over all the parts of my cloud and like that I was able to connect the shapes together into one big shape. I added on a Gaussian Blur to my clouds by going to Fx and Blur. To add on extra details I found silhouettes from the internet for parts in my project such as the trees, birds, and kayaker in the water. To add in these images I drag and dropped in the images I wanted to use and clicked image trace and expand. Then from there I could change the colors and or size of the silhouettes. The very last details I added where the leaves I added onto the trees. To do this I made the leaf into a symbol and from there I was able to use the symbol sprayer tool to add in lots of leaves.

2. How do animators and color stylist use Ai in their profession?
- Animators and color stylist are able to use AI in there profession by creating motion graphics, including style frames, artwork creation, charts, graphs, info graphic animations, and character design. Using Adobe Illustrator is a platform that will speed up production levels with the straight line work that is needed when working in these professions.

3. What type of landscape did you set out to create? Did your final product meet the expectations you set for yourself; why or why not?
- I wanted to create a waterfall land landscape. My final product did meet my expectations as it is what I had envisioned and planned out with my first sketch. I would say that my final product even exceeded my expectations because I was able to add more little details then I thought I was going to be able to.

4. Based on the learning target, "Apply refined observation and drawing skills to design and create a vector landscape with a foreground, middle ground and background in Adobe Illustrator by using gradients, image trace the pen tool and shape tool sprayer " what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding). Why do you think so?
- Based on the learning target my project exceeds mastery because it includes all parts that the rubric is asking for. Also with the added details using different tools I was able to make my project go above and beyond. Some tools that I used to exceed mastery included te warp tool, symbol spray tool, and the shape builder tool. With these tools I was able to add in extra details into my project that gave it life. The other thing was the insertion of multiple silhouettes that I included in both the background and the foreground.
